Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in blood draws, specimen labeling, and centrifuging. You will play a critical role in collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures while providing clear explanations to patients about the process.

ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Label and centrifuge specimens as required by test order.Record maintenance data and decontaminate equipment.Update patient information accurately.Collect and store specimens such as blood, urine, and fecal samples.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels are 100% correct.Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.Follow specific procedures for specimen collection and transport to maintain integrity.Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings.Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.Essential SkillsPhlebotomy certification for the state of employment.Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to troubleshoot and provide training as needed.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Work Environment

This position is M-F 7am-4pm located in N PHX by Desert Ridge.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $24.59/hr.
