From promoting growth and development to prioritizing work-life balance, we’re committed to helping our team members thrive. **That's Perdue.** **Summary** Implement and maintain the Plant ammonia refrigeration PSM program, work as Utility department lead with Manager/Supervisor and maintain Plant ODS log, be involved in the Department PM program, and assist in the management of the day-to-day operation of the Utility Department. + Schedule: 1st Shift 6:00am-6:00pm **Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities** + Position manages the Plant PSM (Process Safety Management) program and is responsible for managing (operation, maintenance, and upgrade) the Ammonia Refrigeration Systems, CFC Refrigeration Systems, Steam generating system, Plant Compressed Air system, Plant HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning) systems. + Responsible for managing ODS (Ozone Depleting Substance) usage and recovery procedures and log. + Position assists with Boiler and Pressure vessel inspections and certificates. + Position is responsible for managing the emergency response process for all environmental issues related to the Ammonia Refrigeration System. + Under the direction of the Utilities Manager, the PSM Coordinator will assist in providing leadership across all three shifts in establishing, organizing, planning, and implementing utilities programs/initiatives that will support the facility Utilities strategy. These programs will include but are not limited to PSM (including leading internal PSM audits of the 14 elements of PSM), Preventative Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, Predictive Maintenance, Equipment Overhauls, and Equipment Upgrades of the plant ammonia control systems and Utility equipment. + Duties will also include assisting with the development and training / certification needs of Hourly Utility Operator(s) and Hourly Utility Analyst(s). + Duties also include the development/management of the plant PSM program. The position will assist with the identification / execution of capital projects in the Utility area. + Position will coordinate associated ammonia best practices across the plant and facilitate continuous improvement in the Utility group. + The person in this position will interface, on a frequent basis, with the Corporate Refrigeration Manager to stay aligned and up to date on information and direction being shared across all ammonia refrigeration facilities, as well as to share ideas and practices with other facilities that will benefit them in the safe, efficient operation of their facility. **Planning Responsibilities** + Develops short-and long-range planning for the Boiler and Refrigeration department. + Reviews and screens each request for completeness, accuracy, and necessity except for those which must be performed on the same day as requested. Such requests are handled directly by the Maintenance Superintendent without benefit of planning. + Examines the job to be performed and etermines the best way to accomplish the work; ulting with the requestor and/or the Maintenance Superintendent/Manager as appropriate. Visits the job site and analyzes the job in the field. + Uses equipment history to determine if the job has been previously performed. + Details and phases job requirements during detailed job planning. Selects and describes the best way to perform the job. + Determines and sequences the job by specific and logical tasks or steps. + Determines required skill sets for each task (craft and skill level). + Determines resource requirements: Establish the required crew size and man-hours for each task of the job sequence; lists determinable materials, parts and special tools required. + Determines equipment and external resource needs. + Estimates total cost in terms of labor, material, and external charges. + Assembles the planned job package to be reviewed with the Maintenance Superintendent/Manager and the requestor: Prepares a detailed work order and labor deployment plan by craft and skill, estimates man-hours. + Within the procurement process: Purchases sources all materials requiring direct purchase, obtains necessary competitive bids and obtains delivery dates; monitors materials/parts delivery. + Works closely with the Superintendent to coordinate schedules to ensure that all preventive/predictive routines are scheduled at their predetermined frequencies. + Schedules follow up to determine the level of schedule compliance and reasons for completion shortfalls. + Maintains computerized backlog file of work orders awaiting scheduling. + Coordinates with Production to reach accord regarding the most important jobs to be scheduled during the approaching schedule week: negotiates for downtime windows during which selected maintenance can be performed. + Perform all duties needed to maintain proper and efficient Maintenance Planning **Minimum Education** + High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. + A minimum of five-years’ experience with PSM, refrigeration and boiler operation are preferred. **Minimum Requirements** + Must demonstrate strong working and technical knowledge of refrigeration, steam generation, compressed air generation, Utility equipment, maintenance systems, equipment installation/startups and plant utility equipment. + Individual should have experience working with vendors and contractors. + Individual must also be able to learn the company policies and procedures. + Individual must have interpersonal and team skills to function as a team member and leader. + Must be proficient in Process Safety Management (PSM), possess electrical troubleshooting skills as they relate to refrigeration and HVAC controls. + Must be able to provide technical direction in the troubleshooting and the repair of pneumatic and direct digital controls (DDC) on HVAC equipment. + Must possess a strong working knowledge of water treatment associated with boiler feed water, cooling towers, and condensers. **Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements** + Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. + May need to move equipment occasionally. + May need to access files, supplies and equipment. + Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. + When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. + May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. + May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
