Inova Center for Personal Health is looking for a dedicated Psych Emergency Clinician 3 to join the team. This role will be full-time night shift: (times vary 7:00 p.m.- 7:00 a.m. / 8:00 p.m-8:00 a.m./ 9:00 p.m. -9:00 a.m.)

Psych Emergency Clinician 3 Job Responsibilities:

Serves as a clinical leader by providing clinical supervision to team members seeking licensure. Supports therapeutic milieu concepts, as defined in our mission statement. Assesses individuals, including individuals considered to be seriously mentally ill (SMI), experiencing psychiatric and/or behavioral high-risk crisis, to ensure the safety of the patient, family, and community, in accordance with hospital and Behavioral Health guidelines. Formulates treatment options to include patient needs and preferences, with focus on the best practice of utilizing the least restrictive intervention that will work for the patient, while maintaining all appropriate safety standards.  Provides care coordination to ensure the patient and family receive and are referred to appropriate resources to optimize treatment outcomes. Makes recommendations and facilitates connections for the next level of care for patients in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary treatment team.  Documents assessment, decision making and patient outcomes, in accordance with hospital and Behavioral Health guidelines. Presents and maintains all information necessary to secure preauthorization for insured patients.

 

Additional Requirements:

Work schedule: (3 x 12 hour shifts) (times vary 7:00 p.m.- 7:00 a.m. / 8:00 p.m-8:00 a.m./ 9:00 p.m. -9:00 a.m.)This position requires rotation shifts working at Inova Fairfax main Hospital also. Education: Master's Degree, Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in Mental Health, Social Work, Counseling, Substance Use Disorders or Behavioral Health related field. Experience: Minimum of four years’ experience working in the psychiatric or mental health field with the seriously mentally ill. Certification:  BLS from the American Heart Association. Crisis Prevention Institute Within 6 Months CPI in-person training for non-violent crisis intervention, receive CPI blue card within 6 months of hire. Licensure:  Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP).
