Position:  Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner         FLSA Status:  Exempt

 

Location:  Whitman Counseling Center                                 Hourly Rate:  $80 - $85/hour Full-time or Part-time

 

Supervised By:  Consulting Psychiatrist and Clinic Director

 

                                                

General Statement of Duties: 

The PMHNP is responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric care, psychopharmacology, and /or psychotherapy services to individuals served by Whitman Counseling Center.

 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

Conduct initial client assessment to include psychiatric and medical history, develop diagnosis and treatment.Provide individual therapy as indicated with medication management.Psychopharmacology duties as per written guidelines established between supervising psychiatrist of record and prescriber to be renewed every two years.Collaborate with multidisciplinary team as needed.Document using electronic health record (EHR) as required by clinic policy.Participate in discharge planning as needed.Maintain/ review established productivity requirements (up to 3 routine medication follow-up encounters per hour).Perform duties to reflect agency/ program policies and philosophy.Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards and universal safety precautions.Perform other related work duties as assigned/ discussed with supervisor or designee.

 

Qualifications:

 

PMHNP to practice under the rules/ regulations of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which include:Registration in Nursing from the Board of Registration in NursingMaintenance of Massachusetts Controlled Substance RegistrationMaintain Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) RegistrationTwo years of experience as a PMHNP or related field preferredEligible for BAMSI malpractice insurance coverage

Possess a valid driver’s license and own means of transportation.
