Washington County Mental Health Services is “Where Hope and Support Come Together.” POSITION: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative team of physicians, nurses, and counseling staff to provide integrated, team-based mental health care that addresses the full spectrum of patient needs. As the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients, ensuring that all practices align with program guidelines, policies, and relevant regulations. Your expertise in providing mental health care and patient education will be vital in helping patients achieve optimal health outcomes. Additionally, you will manage patient crises, ensure clinical goals are met, and provide on-call coverage and supervision for fellow clinicians. QUALIFICATIONS: + Bachelor’s degree in nursing with advanced practice registered nurse through PMHNP degree; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN); or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). + Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in psychiatry providing best practice and high-quality psychiatric care and/ or addictions treatment to patients. + Authority to prescribe psychotropic and other controlled medications. Additional requirements for this position include: + Must qualify as Licensed Nurse Practitioner in the state of Vermont, and must have an NPI number or be able to obtain one upon employment. + Familiarity with Vermont's mental health system and regulations. + Excellent knowledge of psychiatric assessments including psychiatric history, course of illness, and response to treatment, mental status examination, and 5 Axis DSM V diagnoses. + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  + Ability to interact well with patients, WCMHS staff, and other professionals. + Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds as well as execute restraint techniques. + Understanding of and commitment to advancing the WCMHS mission and supporting the provision of collaborative and inclusive mental health, development disability, and substance use services. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: This full-time position offers an annualized salary of $130,000 - $140,000 and excellent benefits, including tuition reimbursement/student loan assistance; generous paid time off; employer-sponsored health, dental, life, and disability insurances; and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match.
