**About this role**
Under direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator (HSA)/Program Manager (PM), or higher medical professional, the Psychiatric Registered Nurses will develop, initiate and coordinate the patient plan of care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in collaboration with the healthcare team and in compliance with all agency, local, state, federal laws and regulations.
**What you bring to the table**
Education
+ Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Experience
+ 3-5 years’ working in a psychiatric nurse role
+ Previous correctional/detention facility experience
+ At least two years’ experience providing treatment to adults with various mental health disabilities
Licenses/Certifications
+ Current (and must maintain) unrestricted RN license in state of practice
+ Psychiatric–Mental Health Nursing Certification, i.e. via ANCC, or has completed required hours and is in process of testing for certification
+ Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA
**What you will do**
+ Utilize the nursing process to provide quality patient care, including assessments, medication administration, and documentation.
+ Respond to psychiatric emergencies, assess for suicide ideation, and refer individuals for further evaluation when necessary.
+ Communicate with health services staff, evaluate and refer patients requiring psychotropic medications, and provide crisis intervention and counseling.
+ Coordinate shift activities, maintain a safe working environment, and triage and communicate significant medical and mental health observations.
+ Perform psychiatric assessments, participate in quality management activities, and assist with staff training and evaluations.
**Qualifications & Requirements**
Education
