Psychiatric Tech - Geriatric Psych - FT/PRN - Shift Varies

Assists in coordinating essential  program activities such as activity groups and specialty groups.  Works closely with all other clinical staff ( Activity Therapists, Social Workers, Nurses) to conduct various process and specialty groups within the patient program.  Is integral in assuring that the patient program schedule is carried out as planned by the staff team.  Performs various duties assisting staff nurses in the psychiatric and physical treatment and care of patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the hospital.  Interacts closely with patients remaining engaged in the various activities and events that patient’s experience throughout the treatment day.  Interacts with patients in a therapeutic manner at all times and assists other staff to also maintain appropriate boundaries.


Education:  High school graduate.

Experience:  Desirable characteristics include at 2 years of experience in a hospital or group home setting.  Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards under the supervision of an RN.  Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.

License/certification:  CPR & CPI required
