Duties Description The selected candidate will serve as full-time Attending Psychiatrist to provide direct, team-based clinical care and supervisory oversight of Columbia medical students and residents on the 22-bed inpatient General Clinical Research Unit (GCRU). The GCRU provides inpatient care to voluntary patients admitted from the community of Northern Manhattan as well as research participants enrolled in a wide range of clinical studies, including related to substance use, brain stimulation, depression, and molecular imaging. The unit coordinates with Columbia-affiliated outpatient clinics, including the psychiatry residency training clinic and multiple outpatient community clinics. The unit’s mission is to deliver excellent patient care, to pursue state of the art clinical research, and to educate medical, nursing, social work, and recreational therapy students, nurse practitioner and psychology interns, and psychiatric residents. Minimum Qualifications Psychiatrist 2, SG-38:Salary: $261,361License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State AND certification in general psychiatry by the ABPN. Limited Permit Option: You may be eligible for appointment to Psychiatrist 2 if you have licensure in another state or Canada AND a current limited permit to practice medicine in New York State. If appointed, you must obtain your license within one year of the date your limited permit was issued. Failure to do so will result in removal from your position.
