Position Summary

 

 

 

The Staff Physician, Psychiatry provides psychiatric services to the Hospital's patient population (including but not limited to assessment, treatment, and management of care) and assures continuity of care for the patients assigned to the Physician.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:

Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies & Behaviors. Provides the clinical skills necessary for the efficient delivery of high-quality care to patients with psychiatric illness. Physician will cover inpatient psychiatric consultations from the floors and the Emergency Department as required. Interface with medical professionals in other Hospital departments and throughout the Montefiore system to ensure highest quality patient care. Develop strong and mutually beneficial relationships with other institutions (hospitals, community service agencies) and community partners (e.g. Police Department, Crisis Team, etc) as appropriate. Participate in utilization management, quality improvement, patient satisfaction programs and committees as may be reasonably required by the Director of Psychiatry. Be available to assist the department as unanticipated needs arise in the after hours and on call coverage schedule. Provide and perform such other services as may be reasonably required by the Hospital from time to time. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements

Valid license to practice medicine in the State of New York Required. 

Board Certified in Psychiatry is required.

Be awarded, and maintain in good standing, membership in the Hospital’s Medical Staff, required. 

Current US DEA license is required.
