The Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), in partnership with other major Oregon health systems, has an outstanding opportunity for a BE/BC psychiatrist interested in serving in our Psychiatric Emergency Service. The Unity Center for Behavioral Health utilizes a non-coercive, highly community oriented treatment program, which prevents hospitalization when possible, and returns patients to community services as soon as feasible. This 100+ bed psychiatric hospital and 75-bed psychiatric emergency service in Portland, Oregon is a collaborative effort to address the mental health needs of the community.
The hospital is also a major training site for the department’s residency training program, medical students, and other health profession’s trainees. This is a unique opportunity for a creative, energetic psychiatrist to treat, teach and advance their academic interests.
Function/Duties of PositionThe appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
This position will provide patient care in the Psychiatric Emergency Service.
Academic rank begins at the level of Assistant Professor and may be higher depending on credentials. The position offers competitive pay and benefits, which may include a relocation allotment and/or a signing bonus.
