This position will support research with STRONG STAR (South Texas Research Organizational Network Guiding Studies on Trauma And Resilience) Consortium. The Killeen, Texas position, will be at the STRONG STAR research site at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology and be licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in the State of Texas. The doctoral degree and predoctoral internship must be from American Psychological Association-accredited programs. The faculty appointment will be within the Department of Psychiatry and School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio. The position will involve supporting all aspects of clinical research within the Division of Behavioral Medicine and STRONG STAR. STRONG STAR the nation's largest research consortia focused on combat-related posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and comorbid conditions (traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, sleep disorders, substance use disorders, suicide, and tinnitus) and include the collaboration of over 150 investigators and over 40 institutions worldwide. This position will involve serving as a research investigators and educators. As investigators, the faculty members will provide support for ongoing research studies and collaborate on the development and submission of research grant applications as a co-investigator or principal investigator. As educators, the faculty members to assist in the training, supervision, and mentorship of postgraduates, graduate students, interns, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty members. Preferred qualifications include: + The completion of a two-year postdoctoral fellowship focused on combat-related post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and comorbid conditions (traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, sleep disorders, substance use disorders, suicide, and tinnitus) is preferred. + Extensive experience in prolonged exposure therapy, cognitive processing therapy, cognitive behavioral conjoint therapy, writing exposure therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy with insomnia. + Experience in delivering the therapies listed above to a high standard of fidelity as a research therapist for randomized clinical trials. + Experience in grant submissions and working on research projects funded through the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense, Veterans Administration, and private foundations. + A history of publications in peer-reviewed journals. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire. Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken. Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment. Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each fiscal year.
