The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services’ (Iowa HHS) Division of Public Health is seeking a Psychiatry Director (Physician).Summary: Will direct, oversee, and provide executive level management for medical and psychiatric services at the Department's five facilities that serve over 400 individuals per day statewide. Individual will direct and oversee the implementation of psychiatric and therapeutic treatment ensuring the most efficacious treatment is provided to the individuals served including addressing deficiencies and gaps identified. Will direct and advise top leadership (e.g., State Medical Director, Division Director, Facility Superintendents) and direct the appropriate clinical managers on making needed improvements in medical and psychiatric services. This includes assessing and reporting on the implementation of the improvements, adjusting improvement plans, and ensure successful implementation of improvement plans. Responsibilities: Will collaborate with leadership on statewide goals/direction related to medical/psychiatric care. Will review current psychiatric practices and establish plans to ensure compliance w/regulatory agencies and/or improve care. Will develop system for training and oversight of students/residents. Will provide general and forensic psychiatric care as needed. May act as the designee for designated roles throughout the agency as requested/qualified. Will develop quality management system for medical/psychiatric care. Requirements:Must obtain board certification in applicable specialty within five years of residency training. Applicant must be able to pass an Iowa HHS "level 3" background check as a condition of employment. Geographical Information:This position will be a hybrid of both remote and on-site facility/Central Office work in collaboration with the supervisor.
