Psychoeducation Specialist – St. Charles Hospital

  

Job Summary: 

The Psychoeducation Specialist provides direct patient care under the supervision of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH). 

  

Essential Functions: 

Facilitates individual and/or support groups (within Psychoeducation scope) and may participate in family meetings and treatment team meetings.  

Provides community resource knowledge and handles coordination of related activities.  

May provide 1:1 patient safety companion service as needed, and patient checks as assigned. 

Care planning and discharge planning in collaboration with Social Worker team.  

Participates in continued education and in-service training.

Education: 

Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy, or Expressive Therapy (Music, Dance/Movement), Counseling, or Human Services (required) 

  

Licensing & Certifications: 

Must be licensed, certified, or registered as appropriate by state and national licensing boards in one of the following: (required) 

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) 

Registered Art Therapist (ATR) 

Provisional Registered Art Therapist (ATR-P)

Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) 

Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT-BC) 

Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) 

Occupational Therapist Licensed (OTR/L) 

  

Experience: 

1 year of experience in social services or human services setting (required)
