Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:

Under the directives of the Coordinator and the supervision of Registered Guidance Counselors of the Guidance and Counseling Program, the Psychological Well-being Practitioner provides emotional and psycho-social support services to the students with normal developmental concerns.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

I. Psycho-social Support Services

Conducts The intake interview for students and identifies who might need psycho emotional support. Conducts case conferences with the appropriate parties (faculty, family, parents, school administrators, affected parties, and other professionals). Regularly provides feedbacks to the Coordinator and RGC’s about cases being handled Documents counseling cases attended and ensures the confidentiality of case details. ∙ Recommends intervention plan based on interpreted test results and needs assessment survey. Facilitates career guidance & planning for students. Conducts case conference with parents and teachers as regards students’ developmental needs. Conducts individual or group session/s.

II. Mental Health Programs

Preparesinformation campaigns and materialsto proactively create awareness and support mental wellness and resilience. Conducts Guidance Formation Sessions that deal with the normal developmental concerns of the students. Provides mental health in-service training for faculty and staff.

Researches, analyzes and presents data related to student’s mental health status and the effectiveness of mental health programs and services.

Conducts needs assessment, analysis, and presentation of data pertaining to students' mental health status and the efficacy of the offered mental health programs and services.

III. Administrative and other Support Services

Presents guidance and counseling programs and services to faculty, students, parents and stakeholders. Provides initial consultation for referrals especially, cases involving emotional and mental health concerns. Ensures the accessibility of all emergency contact information used in facilitating effective coordination during emergencies by: Coordinating emergency psychological situations with relevant offices/partner institutions, who in turn will inform the parents/guardians of the student who requires immediate attention and support. Coordinating referrals to clinical psychologists(within the University and outside), mental health institutions, hospitals, and government agencies, when necessary. Arranges and conducts case conferences with faculty and key persons involved. Arranges and conducts parent conferences when necessary. Attends DSF, pre-deliberations and deliberations of students being handle. Submits detailed annual accomplishment reports. Maintains cumulative folders of all students assigned to his/her care.

IV. Performs other Guidance & Counseling tasks as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or authorized representatives.
