GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position is a professional management position that reports directly to the Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC) Facility Administrator within the Wyoming Department of Health's Behavioral Health Division. It provides clinical oversight and psychological services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and behavioral challenges.
WLRC currently services Wyoming residents in an Intermediate Care Facility and a newly constructed Skilled Nursing Facility as well - the first of its kind in the nation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
+ Provide consultation on all complicated clinical cases and generally work as the clinical expert for all clinical interventions within the program. Assist in the development of behavioral plans.
+ Responsible for recruitment, retention, training, professional development, supervision, quality assurance, and peer review of members of the program.
+ Provide license/clinical supervision and performance improvement counseling to members of staff.
+ Provide direct program care on specific cases, and facilitate appropriate individual and group interventions to staff and residents.
+ Ensure each resident receives a sophisticated program of active treatment. Provide oversight and provision of all clinical services. Research, develop, and implement research-based best practices that meet the population's specific needs.
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal psychological services and active treatment regulations. Train staff on survey issues throughout the year. Participate in and carry out Plans of Correction.
+ Participate on committees within WLRC and Wyoming Department of Health Behavioral Health Division to improve efficiency and efficacy of service delivery and the development of Trauma-Informed Culture and Climate.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:
+ Knowledge of clinical supervision techniques, theory, and practices.
+ Skills in verbal and written communication and public speaking.
+ Skills in clinical assessments.
+ Ability and skill to supervise and motivate staff, provide leadership, and create and encourage a team environment.
+ Ability to create, implement and manage effective programs.
+ Knowledge of national accreditation standards.
+ Knowledge of Centers for Medicaid and Medicare regulations and interpretive guidelines, state and local regulations, and Behavioral Health Division standards relative to mental health.
+ Skills in psychological assessments, treatment, and discharge protocols, evidence-based practice guidelines, licensure processes, psychotherapy, and clinical practices.
+ Ability to communicate with, understand, reflect, assess, teach, and assist clients and their families/guardians with issues and concerns.
+ Ability to develop safety practices and review protocols.
+ Ability to interpret ethical issues and display professional conduct.
+ Ability to develop clinically sound therapeutic practices and reviews.
+ Ability to work with and around WLRC residents, including those who may display challenging behaviors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
PsyD or PhD in Psychology
Experience:
2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Psychology)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Wyoming
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Requires crisis management skills and the ability to intervene in a resident's behavioral issues.
+ Ability to use behavior management techniques and intervene during resident behavior episodes.
+ Ability to work alone and/or with multiple residents.
+ Must be able to lift, twist, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
+ Requires the ability to monitor sounds, noise, residents' location, etc., in order to assure safety and assess imminent danger and emerging concerns.
NOTES:
+ FLSA: Exempt
+ This is an At-Will position.
+ A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
+ The Wyoming Life Resource Center participates in E-Verify. We will provide the Social Security Administration, and if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security, with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. Please note that we do not use this information to pre-screen job applicants.
+ Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions. Drug testing will be conducted on any position if reasonable suspicion exists.
