Job Summary:
SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join the Integrated Behavioral Health Care (IBHC) Service at the Nappi Wellness Institute. IBHC at Nappi partners behavioral health professionals with medical providers to deliver coordinated, whole-person care. This position will primarily serve the Adolescent Medicine Program, a full-service clinic providing both consultation and primary care for adolescents and young adults. As part of a small, specialized interdisciplinary team, the IBHC psychologist will play a key role in delivering individualized, holistic, and evidence-based care. Common referral concerns include anxiety, depression, sexual health, eating disorders, and chronic medical conditions. The team is dedicated to supporting a diverse and often at-risk outpatient population, ensuring that every patient receives compassionate, comprehensive, and developmentally appropriate care.
Responsibilities:
+ Provide comprehensive psychological services, including therapy, assessment, diagnosis, and case management.
+ Develop individualized plans of care addressing each patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and educational needs.
+ Collaborate closely with patients and families to establish measurable, patient-centered goals and adjust care plans as needs evolve.
+ Document and communicate care plans, progress, and outcomes with the interdisciplinary team, including primary care providers, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, clinical social workers, and trainees.
+ Participate actively in multidisciplinary case discussions and contribute to a collaborative care model.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited program.
+ Licensed (or license-eligible) as a Psychologist in New York State. If license-eligible, will be required to obtain a limited permit and must obtain a psychologist license within 1 year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience or strong interest in working with adolescents and young adults.
+ Familiarity with integrated care and evidence-based approaches for treating anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and behavioral health concerns in primary care settings.
