GiaCare is now accepting resumes for a civilian Certified Psychologist to work full-time in anticipation for a future position at Fort Leavenworth AFB in Kansas 

Psychologist Qualifications:

Degree/Education: Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology. Graduate from a program in psychology accredited at the time of graduation by the American Psychological Association (APA) or predecessor organization, to include an internship prescribed by the education institution.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) 

Experience: Shall have a minimum of one year within the past five years in the practice of clinical psychology, preferably in a Government setting such as a DOD or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF and providing clinical services to individuals, couples, or groups in clinical psychotherapy services. Knowledge and experience with military health systems, combat/deployment issues, people suffering from medically unexplained symptoms, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and/or disasters are highly desired. 

Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist. 

Psychologist Job Duties:

Shall have proficiency in administration and interpretation of basic psychological test measures to include Intelligence Testing, Personality Testing with Objective and Projective Testing, and basic neuropsychological screening techniques, such as Mental Status exams or Dementia Rating Scales.Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.Assist in rehabilitation of patients.
