Located on 174 Acres in DeKalb County, Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta operates 300 licensed, accredited inpatient beds in three major program areas: Adult Mental Health, Forensic Services, and Developmental Disabilities. In addition, GRH/Atlanta also offers inpatient and outpatient Dental Services.
The hourly psychologist is expected to work at least two days per week and eligible to work up to 29 hours per week. This position requires working at least three Saturdays per month and has flexibility for additional hours Monday through Friday.
Job Description:
The position primarily involves facilitating groups on Adult Mental Health units for at least three Saturdays a month in an acute inpatient setting with adults, often from underserved communities with severe mental illness, histories of trauma, impulse control problems, and interpersonal issues. The hourly psychologist will provide coverage of psychological services as needed including psychological assessment, individual therapy, and group interventions to promote recovery, maintenance, and enhancement of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and interpersonal functioning. Consistent and thorough documentation in each individualโs electronic medical record to inform treatment is essential. The hourly psychologist also has the opportunity to be involved in the APA accredited doctoral internship program such as providing didactic training and clinical supervision.

+ Experience serving psychiatric inpatients and individuals with severe mental illness
+ Excellent writing and organizational skills
+ Experience working on interdisciplinary teams
+ Experience providing psychological assessment
+ Experience providing group interventions

Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice psychology AND One year of experience at the lower level Psychologist 1 (HCP140) or equivalent.
