Psychologists in the Children’s Day Program are valuable members of the clinical team, supporting the needs of students with developmental disabilities in ungraded, self-contained classrooms.   The clinical team includes psychologists, social workers, clinical coordinators, behavior specialists and behavior support staff who work seamlessly with the education team to provide high-quality instruction and behavioral supports.  Our school programs operate on a 12-month calendar.   See full job description for qualifications and responsibilities.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 / year

Responsibilities:  Complete Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) as necessary. Participate in Committee for Special Education (CSE) meetings including annuals, re-evaluations, and requested reviews. Oversee & conduct supervision of behavior specialists who conduct FBAs and write BSPs. Provide supervision and staff training to psychology interns, school psychologists and All But Dissertations (ABD’s).  Provide consultation services on behavioral interventions, data collection and psychological/psychiatric conditions to teachers, teacher assistants and therapists.  Consult with school district representatives on Children’s Day Program (CDP) students as needed. Consult with treating psychiatrists as needed to address behavior or medication related concerns. Provide individual and group counseling services with students as needed. Discuss diagnostic information with parents as applicable. Provide coordination of services with appropriate clinical staff in the Children’s Residential Program (CRP). Attend clinical meetings CDP and CRP students, to discuss behavior concerns and progress of students. Conduct research as approved by DDI. Attend Research Review Committee meetings, as requested. Attend Human Rights Committee meetings and act as the program liaison. Attend Technical Assistance meetings, as requested. Attend DDI Incident Review Committee meetings, as requested.  Review CDP incident reports and ensure appropriate follow-up occurs. Oversee psychological evaluations conducted by school psychologists. Conduct counseling assessments for students.  Provide evaluative input regarding any emergency/crisis situations that occur in CDP. Develop and teach in-services and staff training as needed by the program. Participate in intake meetings and screenings of incoming students. Develop and engage in outside professional relationships to foster DDI’s mission, vision & core values. Communicate effectively with students’ team members, parents, school districts and care coordinators (as applicable) regarding student related matters, Perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting in arrival/dismissal, fire drills, staffing, field trips, events, etc. Qualifications:  PhD or PsyD in psychology field Excellent inter:personal, communication and organizational skills SCIP-R Certification is required (For a new hire, must have SCIP-R certification within 2 months of hire) Essential Physical Demands Must be able to modify the area to secure the safety of the children i.e. move/push tables and other heavy objects up to 20 lbs Must be able to lift/move 20 lbs (mats) Must be able to run after student up to 500 feet Must be able to run to a classroom in need up to 500 feet Must be able to kneel, twist and bend Must be able to respond to fire alarms
