Hours Part-time, include requirement and total hours per week - 19 Hours
Summary of Position
To provide transition advising and instruction to students entering post-secondary education and the workforce.
Minimum Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution is required; teacher certification preferred
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited educational institution preferred
Minimum Required Experience
Two years of administrative experience working in a college or other educational setting is required.
Experience working with adult students and transitioning to college or workforce programs is desired.
A minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience or teacher certification is required; working with adults is desirable.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Knowledge of all local college program offerings, continuing education, trade schools, job training opportunities, and their entry requirements.
+ Student visa requirements, the process for prospective international students, and funding options are available.
+ Provide career planning, exploration, counseling, educational planning, and job search readiness services.
+ Understanding accreditation and the difference between community and technical colleges, universities, proprietary schools, trade schools, professional certification programs, etc…
+ College recruitment, advising, mentorship.
+ Highly motivational and comfortable with public speaking and promotions.
+ Ability to teach effectively and competently.
+ Ability to communicate effectively and competently with the public and with all students.
+ Proficiency in MS Microsoft Office and databases.
+ Knowledge of how to create a resume, perform in a job interview, and use internet resources for finding jobs and networking (such as LinkedIn).
+ Program development and implementation (including writing and design skills and the ability to conduct staff training).
+ Ability to create reports.
+ Knowledge of college entrance requirements.
+ Knowledge of basic workforce requirements.
