Takes an active role in shaping the Healthcare environment by advocacy and networking activities with National / Regional Health Systems, government, influencers to optimize the institutional environment in order to contribute to the company’s growth by doing the following:

Monitors legislative and political environment, in order to identify early enough threats and opportunities for the business,Defines an adequate strategy including stakeholder mapping, reach out plan, and outcomes and KPI in line with corporate compliance guidelines,Build up coalitions with other stakeholders (other pharma companies, ...).Represents Sanofi by ensuring the right level of leadership in trade association.Lead and accompanies a high-performance teamManages a team directly or indirectly Job Family Group: Public Affairs

Scope & Scale:

Develop and execute cohesive strategy, strategies, plans and tactics for all Business Units, therapeutic lines and products. Responsible for representing one voice among Government representatives, legislators, media, key interest groups and health authorities to advance the organization’s business, advocacy policies and priorities.

Main responsibilities:

At COPAC region level, he/she develops and leads as applicable, a high performing Public Affairs Team that directly supports our Play to Win Strategy

Defines, develops and oversees a strategic Public Affairs Plan and individual work programs to directly support the company goals as set out in the Global Corporate Affairs Plan and COPAC region Play to Win Strategy. This will include providing public affairs support to corporate functions and GBUs, shaping our external environment to support sustainable growth, ensuring we all speak with One Sanofi Voice with institutions, political bodies and health authorities drug agency, mapping engagement plan, prepare for launches and enabling favorable conditions for access to Sanofi’s innovationLeads a high performing and thriving team that appropriately rewards success, supports career development, leads on DE&I and ensures appropriate succession planning.Performance manages the team through setting and reviewing priorities, providing appropriate and timely feedback about performance and coaching team members to help them to achieve their goals.Supports the professional and career development of the team by identifying the skills and competencies that employees need for their current and prospective roles and providing opportunities to learn and develop.Builds a motivated and engaged team through the use of formal and informal recognition, regular communications and the encouragement of cooperation between individuals and teams.Develops, manages and monitors a responsible budget process for the Public Affairs Team that ensures appropriate resourcing of priority activitiesCreates an integrated and synergistic approach to public affairs activities and relevant image building activities to enforce One Sanofi inside and outside.

At COPAC, he/she oversees our high-level external engagement with government and policy community.

Keeps abreast of the external environment and understands how Sanofi is positioned and perceived externally and the actions we need to take to support our Play to Win strategy.Plans, develops and implements PA strategies, programs and initiatives at the regional level with all stakeholders to secure a timely and effective access to our products.Positions Sanofi as an industry leader in the country, lobbying for a better ecosystem to support sustainable growth of life sciences industry.Identify and approach stakeholders and influencers to understand common points of interest or similar priorities in their agendasOperates at a senior level representing the interests of Sanofi to government ministers and officials, national policy decision makers, senior executives of trade associations, patient and professional organisations. Engage to continue or start building trust-based relationsOversees the development of a live stakeholder map of priority Government and policy influencers in the country and leads the implementation of a contact programs to develop trusted relationships with these individuals.Determine the engagement and advocacy strategies that will most effectively achieve policy changes and business objectivesWorks across the business to identify the cross-cutting policy priorities for the country’s business and ensure alignment of external messaging and public affairs activity. Seeks to secure improvements to pricing and access regulation, as well as new routes to market that are in line with business needs.Oversees our engagement with relevant country’s patient organisations to support country’s business priorities and to ensure alignment with global activities.

At COPAC, he/she provides strategic advice to Senior Leaders and establishes effective relationships across the business to ensure that government affairs are understood and integrated across functional and organizational boundaries:

Is a key strategic advisor on public affairs matters for the Senior LeadersInputs to strategic business planning process for the countryContributes to the Global Corporate Affairs Strategy by providing recommendations and inputs as it relates to the country.Ensure Sanofi’s point of view is heard by establishing and maintaining open dialogue between Sanofi and external key stakeholdersDevelops effective senior-level relationships across the business and with Global Corporate Affairs.

Management of Resources

Accurately raises Purchase Requisitions with information provided by requestor and ensures such information is correct.Updates systems in a timely way to reflect the current status of purchase orders and any deliveries of goods and services.Attends to invoice system requests and queries quickly and efficiently.

Takes personal accountability to use personal experience and knowledge, as well as the training and tools provided by Sanofi, to maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all ethics and governance relevant to the role (including the Industry Code of Practice, Sanofi Policies and Procedures and any relevant legal requirements); and demonstrates personal leadership in applying these to all work undertaken.Escalates any decisions, or seeks the support of colleagues or management, if personal knowledge and understanding is not at the level required to carry out any part of the role.

About you

Bachelor’s degree in political science, communications, public administration, public affairs, public relations, public policy or related field. Experience of successfully leading a Public Affairs organisation to deliver towards the company strategyBroad based knowledge of the Sanofi product portfolio, strategy, company and servicesComprehensive understanding of the country’s legislation and codes of practiceA robust knowledge of the country’s political and policy environmentAbility to leverage Public Affairs strategy to gain a competitive advantage and establish a culture of strong employee engagementExperience in Pharma sector in Colombia, Andean Region, Central America & CaribbeanProductive network with government, policy and industry stakeholders and suppliersDemonstrated ability to influence relationships and leverage knowledge internally across a matrix structure to drive collaboration and optimize opportunities to achieve shared goals.Experience of leading, motivating and developing a team.Success in stakeholder managementProven ability to lead in a complex matrix environmentCapacity to act at senior level within the group and be an ambassador outside the group.
