Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will provide public affairs guidance and support to the commanding officer and staff on internal and external news media/social media etc. and community outreach relations. You will develop and coordinate special programs, events and ceremonies, including publicity, pamphlets, brochures, exhibits and coordinates news media news coverage of internal events. You will maintain strong and productive working relationships with news media. You will maintain solid working relationships with civic groups and community leaders. You will provide protocol support for base commanding officer change of command. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting public affairs policies and instructions; 2) Maintaining official websites, social media accounts, and/or content management systems for public affairs information dissemination; 3) Writing speeches, news articles, and/or briefs to disseminate information; and 4) Coordinating internal personnel and resources for participation in community relations events. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
