Responsibilities You will support the command's Public Affairs Office in developing and administering a positive, comprehensive public affairs program for internal relations, media relations, community relations, special event projects and ceremonies. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as an organization's newsletter editor, conducting interviews with employees, as well as internal & external individuals and personnel in addition to researching information needed for news and featured stories; 2) Writing news and feature articles for print and broadcast media, including the shooting and selection of photographs; 3) Managing the administration of digital communications for an organization, including internal and public websites and social platforms; 4) Producing videos, copies and editing video files and performing set ups for audio, lighting and video recording sessions; and 5) Planning, coordinating and carrying out special events and/or activities for an organization. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education The following education may be substituted in lieu of specialized experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
