About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, Office of Communications and Engagement, Rock Island Arsenal, IL. Responsibilities Applies an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of public affairs, including internal and external information, social media, strategic planning and community relations. Oversee the content, design and management of the command's intranet and internet, and social media platforms. Edits, writes, and/or condenses articles for publications using appropriate journalistic style tailored for the publication and audience. Establishes policies and processes and the requirements for selecting equipment and software for the efficient management of the web site. Executes communication plans, advises leadership, and determines the most effective channels of communication for specific programs, to include new and innovative electronic methods. Manages the planning, development, preparation, production, and distribution of continuing and special command information products. Makes recommendations to senior leaders on web-based strategies and tactics to inform the general public and inform potential customers concerning ASC’s mission and capabilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
