Public Media Account Executive (Base + Commission)
Overview: We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Public Media Account Executive to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving revenue by developing and maintaining relationships with clients, understanding their advertising needs, and offering tailored media solutions. This role focuses on securing underwriting, sponsorships, and advertising across public media platforms, including radio, television, and digital. Experience in media sales, a passion for public broadcasting, and strong communication skills are essential.Responsibilities:Sales & Client Relationship Management:Identify and develop new business opportunities for underwriting, sponsorships, and advertising within the public media landscape.Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and engagement.Meet or exceed revenue targets by securing partnerships with local, regional, and national businesses.Needs Assessment & Proposal Development:Conduct thorough assessments of client needs to provide tailored media solutions that align with their marketing objectives.Develop and present customized sponsorship and advertising proposals that showcase the benefits of public media platforms.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to close deals effectively and meet client expectations.Campaign Management & Performance Tracking:Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful execution of media campaigns, including production, scheduling, and delivery.Monitor campaign performance and provide clients with regular updates, reports, and analysis.Adjust and optimize campaigns as needed to improve outcomes and meet client goals.Public Media Advocacy:Educate clients on the unique value of public media, including its audience reach, trust, and community impact.Promote the public media brand, including radio, television, and digital properties, as a premium platform for corporate sponsorships and advertising.Market Research & Industry Knowledge:Stay informed of market trends, competitor activities, and public media industry developments.Conduct research to understand client industries and the competitive landscape, identifying potential advertising opportunities.Leverage data and insights to create compelling sales presentations and proposals.Networking & Business Development:Attend industry events, trade shows, and community functions to network and generate new leads.Maintain a strong presence in the local business community, fostering relationships that can lead to future sales.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.2+ years of experience in media sales, advertising, or a related field, with a focus on client development and revenue generation.Knowledge of public media platforms (radio, television, digital) and the advertising landscape.Strong sales acumen, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients across various industries.Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
