Position Summary:

We seek a versatile communications professional to join our External Communications team within our broader marketing organization. In this role, you will work across teams and functions to oversee the public relations strategy for one of our key industries. The ideal candidate will have experience in public relations, a passion for media relations, and a strong track record in developing and executing successful global PR campaigns. Experience in an agency setting is highly desirable.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

Strategy Development: Create and implement a comprehensive PR strategy tailored to the specific needs and goals of the assigned industry. Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with industry-specific media, journalists, and influencers. Secure high-quality media coverage in top-tier publications and industry outlets. Integrated Communications: Plan and execute integrated communications campaigns, leveraging a holistic communications approach—from strategic concepting and message development to execution. Content Creation: Develop compelling press releases, thought leadership articles, case studies, and other content that effectively communicates Bentley Systems' value proposition. Event Management: Plan and execute PR-related events, from salon dinners to panel preparation and media briefings at industry trade shows. Crisis Management: Proactively manage potential PR crises, developing contingency plans and communicating effectively with key stakeholders. Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with internal teams, including product industry marketing, global go-to-market, communications, brand, content/blog, social, and creative services, to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging. Measurement and Reporting: Monitor and analyze PR campaign performance, providing regular reports to leadership. Adjust strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes. Agency Liaison: Be part of a team of global communicators; manage relationships with PR agencies, ensuring that deliverables meet Bentley Systems' standards and OKRs.

 

What You Bring to The Team:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, a related field, or relevant training and experience. 5-8 years of experience in public relations, preferably within the technology or infrastructure sectors. Agency experience is a strong plus. Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills. Proven ability to secure media placements and build relationships with the press. Interest and desire to learn the specific industry being managed, including key players, trends, and challenges. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. This is a full-time role expected to work 40 hours per week, home-based in the US. Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements). The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling, and meeting functions. This role requires travel up to 15%.
