The PR Specialist will be part of a dynamic on-site team aligning public relations, social media, digital marketing, and brand partnerships with the resort’s business goals. The PR Specialist closely with the Director of Public Relations to curate and execute creative strategies that elevate the brand’s presence, Resort departments like Food and Beverage outlets, Spa + Wellness experiences, and bespoke services. This role emphasizes crafting engaging narratives, fostering authentic connections, and creating buzz-worthy moments that drive awareness, enhance guest experiences, and contribute to the property’s success.
This role is full-time, based on-site at Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica.
What you will do
Along with the PRD this role collects information from internal departments with a focus on Food & Beverage for PR pitches, Marketing Campaigns, and content
Supports the Hotel’s Public Relations team in all aspects of the role including both internal and external guest communications, media relations, experience and creative storytelling, on-site media visits, communications copywriting, video and photoshoot coordination
Participates in administrative duties on behalf of the Public Relations team to include organizing the daily, weekly, and monthly initiative and task requirements and keeping the team aligned on deadlines with support where required
Aligns with F&B team and PR Team to create F&B activations, ideas and campaigns
Send photos, coordinate internal interviews, draft quotes, send additional information about the Hotel
Assists with development of PR materials including press kits, bios, fact sheets, presentations, etc
Prepare reports by analyzing and summarizing data (MME, CISION, SS)
Maintains tracking mechanisms for media, influencer, and partnership activations including frequency, cost, and KPIs as defined by the Director of Public Relations
Assist with management of media lists, researching new media contacts, fact-checking, and researching editorial calendars
Assists with all on-site media visits with personalized media itineraries and aligns Hotel personnel to schedule and contributes to best-in-class media experiences
Provides property tours and entertainment when necessary
Manages Four Seasons content within press room on behalf of the department
Contributes to monthly and quarterly ownership reports and presentations
Willingness to work flexible hours and days of the week to support the essential functions of the department and division
Supports the marketing division with input and actions related to the annual business and plan and fiscal budget
Supports the Director of Marketing
Proofreads all marketing material, including collateral, direct mail, advertising, printed promotional pieces, guest correspondence, etc. as required
Performs other tasks or projects as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Director of Public Relations
Always acts as a brand ambassador to Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, both in and out of the hotel and on personal social media accounts
Manage Purchase requests on FACTO, and follow up invoices for the department
Digital Marketing & Content Creation:
Intermediate to advance design skill and knowledge of tools like canva.com for internal requests, and knowledge of editing tools like Premiere and Lightroom.
Website management & Updates specific to F&B Menus
Manages Four Seasons content within press room on behalf of the F&B Team
Assist in creating promotional materials by coordinating requirements with the design agency
Monitors digital platforms such as Sonifi, Leonardo, 22miles, Google.
Monitors inventory of sales materials, ensuring all are current and accurate, and coordinate the creation of new materials when necessary (Sales Brochures like leisure, private retreats, incentive, etc. flyers, fact sheets, resort map, etc.)
Collaborates with the Digital Marketing Manager with creation of on-site graphic design for approved lobby, elevator, in-room, and other public area signs, print flyers, seasonal check stuffers, and other promotional needs for in-house campaigns for Hotel, Wellness, Spa, F&B outlets, special events, and other intermittent requests
Works with the Digital Marketing Manager to coordinate all site visits for influencers including creating personalized itineraries and sending agreements
Works with the Digital Marketing Manager to support photoshoot schedules, working directly with operational departments to manage shoot requirements
Supports on-site photoshoots
Supports content creation and capture at hotel and provides creative input to amplify monthly strategies though daily activations
Provides support and collaboration on larger scale collateral projects to support division and Hotel needs
Works with Digital Marketing Manager to facilitate new image submissions and archiving content no longer practical for current trends and needs
Assists with identifying and executing local event participation and activations that reach the local neighborhood and surrounding communities

Education & Experience
A degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
3-5 years' experience in public relations, marketing, or brand management, preferably in the luxury hospitality or lifestyle sector.
