Public Safety Communications Dispatcher

The Communications Officer is vital to the smooth operations of the Public Safety Department at Six Flags Great Adventure Resort as we keep our Guests and Team Members safe and the property secure.

The ideal candidate is a proficient communicator with the ability to remain calm, composed, and professional, especially in emergency situations. Also, the ideal candidate has the ability to multi-task, pay close attention to detail, and take appropriate action with little supervision.

The goal is to enable parties to communicate by ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and integrity.

Responsibilities:

Act in a calm and professional manner in all situations. Utilize various dispatch programs and Six Flags applications. Obtain pertinent information and dispatch officers accordingly. Aid city or county law enforcement officials when responding to emergency calls. Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance. Accurately enter data in computer system, maintain logs, activities, and other information. Monitor keys, radios, and other Six Flags equipment. Monitor video surveillance.

 

Requirements:

Answer phones and dispatch on the radio with a smile in your voice. Speak clearly on the telephone and radio system. General computer knowledge. Theme-Park experience, security background, or equivalent. Work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast paced environment. Strong attention to detail. Strong verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skills. Willingness to perform other duties as required to assist with the needs of the park. Work a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Experience as dispatcher or relevant position (Preferred). Computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) (Preferred).
