Public Staff Tax Accountant
Description We are in the process of hiring a Public Staff Tax Accountant to join a growing CPA firm with a great smaller office feel. The role is based in Keller, Texas, and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. As a Public Staff Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting tax research, providing guidance on tax planning strategies, and assisting clients with IRS audits and inquiries. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations. • Conduct comprehensive tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with tax regulations. • Provide expert guidance on tax planning strategies aimed at minimizing tax liabilities. • Assist clients during IRS audits and inquiries, providing necessary documentation and explanations. • Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information for tax filings. • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate these changes to clients. • Utilize various accounting software systems to process customer applications and maintain accurate customer records. • Perform auditing and compliance checks regularly to ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations. • Assist in entity formation and financial statement preparations as required. • Leverage your knowledge of QuickBooks and Bookkeeping to enhance the efficiency of tax preparation and financial record-keeping processes. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of public staff tax accounting • Proficiency in accounting software systems is required • Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions is necessary • Knowledge and experience in auditing is required • Familiarity with compliance protocols and procedures is needed • Experience in entity formation is required • Must have the ability to prepare and analyze financial statements • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly preferred • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary • Must have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required • Must have the ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
