Public Transportation DispatcherPart Time 20 hours/week Pay Range: $33.00-$35.00 Primary Job Functions:Works directly with drivers to provide quality customer transportation services.Oversees road service by tracking trip details, ensuring routes begin on time, tracking performance, and reporting incidents and accidents efficiently and thoroughly.Oversees driver sign in and sign out procedures, and keeps manager informed of attendance issues.Handles emergency situations for drivers and acts as liaison between the driver and emergency services.Monitors daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.Documents and reports disciplinary issues to manager.Other duties as assigned. Education/Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent.1 - 3 years public transportation experience required.Safe driving record.Must possess and maintain a valid California Commercial Driver License with passenger and airbrake endorsements required or the ability to obtain such within 30 days of hire.
Skills and Knowledge and Abilities:
Effective verbal and written communication; must be able to read and comprehend all policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.Knowledge and ability to safely carry out all policies and procedures applicable to job function and duties.Must learn, retain, and be able to communicate complete knowledge of the transit system routes, schedules, and service areas.Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.Able to use or operate vehicle controls including steering wheel, brake, throttle, mirrors, radio, lifts/ramps (manually as necessary), mobility device securement systems, fire extinguisher, and other equipment related to assigned duties.Pre-Employment Requirements:Must be able to pass a pre-employment substance abuse screening.Must be able to pass an employment DOT physical examination.Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
