THE POSITION

If so, then the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) has just the position for you! The PA PUC is currently seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented PUC Compliance Specialist 1. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a PUC Compliance Specialist 1, you will work within the Damage Prevention Section of the Bureau of Investigation & Enforcement to perform investigations of underground utility damage cases that are reported to PUC or through the Pennsylvania One Call System (POCS). Work involves investigating and reviewing reports of alleged violations of the Underground Utility Line Protection Law (UULPL) along with providing correspondence to individuals who are subject to enforcement proceedings. This professional contacts parties that are involved in alleged violations and conducts field investigations, primarily by telephone and written interrogatories. Additional duties include creating and maintaining detailed records of all investigations along with assisting in the preparation of testimony for hearings before the administrative law judge regarding alleged violations of the UULPL. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor as necessary.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report to the headquarters worksite daily, unless eligibility requirements have been met and telework has been approved. Management may discontinue any telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
+ To be eligible to participate in telework, the employee's alternate (telework) worksite must be within a reasonable travel distance of Harrisburg and within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ A bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in utility regulation; or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
