Process Plant Section Manager
Barrick is looking for a Process Plant Section Manager to join the Processing team. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the process plant operations to ensure safety, efficiency, productivity, and quality gold production at Pueblo Viejo. The Process Plant Section Manager collaborates closely with other section managers to execute internal controls, manage budgets, plan and execution of production. Responsible for identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing strategies to optimize business processes.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and drive the activities of personnel engaged in the operation of the upper bench process plant, including crushing/ROM, grinding, limestone, lime slaker, flotation, and thickening. Ensure smooth operations by effectively managing both teams and individual performance, either directly or through subordinate supervisors. Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, monitor production costs and budget expenses consistent with corporate goals. Set and monitor ore processing goals in line with corporate and site objectives. Track production performance and identify areas for improvement to meet or exceed set targets. Coordinate activities with other sections managers to ensure compliance with environmental, exploration, mining, maintenance, accounting, human resources, and other departments’ goals. Review daily production and operating reports, addressing and resolving any operational or manufacturing issues. Focus on minimizing costs and preventing operational delays to ensure continuous production. Contribute to the development, planning, and analysis of production strategies and schedules. Ensure that production plans are executed efficiently and make necessary adjustments based on operational needs and challenges. Lead and implement process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing plant performance, efficiency, and safety. Promote continuous improvement practices across all operational areas. Monitor and measure key process performance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management on progress and areas of concern. Make recommendations for improvements based on data-driven insights.Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field is required. A strong academic background combined with practical leadership experience is essential. Experience in planning, budgeting, and project management within the mineral processing industry. Background in Continuous Improvement methodologies for both maintenance and process operations is required. You should have a track record of successfully implementing improvements that result in measurable performance gains. Proven track record of process plant management and operations, particularly in flotation, grinding, crushing, and mineral processing. Hands-on experience with Pressure Oxidation, Roast, or similar processes in both a maintenance and operational focus is highly preferred.
