POSITION SUMMARY

This position will report to the Operations Controller and will be responsible for the financial operations of the location. The location controller functions as a business partner with the location manager and corporate/operations finance to effectively manage, control, analyze and communicate the financial aspects of the local facility. The Controller will lead the financial staff at the location and is accountable for the timeliness and accuracy of all location-level financial responsibilities. The controller is also the primary financial liaison with corporate/operations financial leadership.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Responsibility and accountability for the timeliness and accuracy of fixed assets, balance sheet, month end close including general ledger and reporting, forecasting, budgeting, capital expenditure requests, capital expenditure tracking and reconciliation, daily productions costs and variance analysis, bill of materials calculations and tracking, adherence to corporate policies, petty cash, accounts payables and receivables, billing, business analysis, product recall tracking and reporting, financial reporting and cost accounting Responsible for local internal controls as well as adherence to company controls and policies Submission of location financials, general ledger and reporting, in a timely and accurate manner Ensure accuracy of bill of materials, production inventories, production variances and overhead Work in depth with local location management to understand and communicate the financial position of the local location and make recommendations for improvements Ensure physical inventories and/or cycle counts are performed on a regular basis per policy and are accurately reflected in the location financials. Understand and explain book to physical adjustments. Perform sample counts of inventory on request or as needed per policy Attend and/or effectively lead formal meetings with location management and/or employees to discuss location issues and ensure timely follow up on action items resulting from these meetings Accurate and timely completion and analysis of forecasts and annual planning budgets as well as monthly, quarterly and annual comparison to company and local objectives. Fully understand the production process at the local location via walkthroughs and regular interactions with employees. Identify controls and/or lack of controls in the process that will impact the local financials. Lead the local finance department to ensure accountability for timely and accurate completion of all responsibilities while ensuring a reasonably pleasant work environment Perform regular product recall tracking exercises to ensure system accuracy as well as timely and accurate performance to USDA time requirements As a member of the location management staff the controller will encounter various ad-hoc requests and non-financial location issues on a daily basis that must be dealt with in a timely and professional manner with limited guidance while using good judgement that represents the policies and values of the company when making those decisions. Write and verbally communicate capital expenditure requests as well as track spending to those requests and close out projects once completed Facilitate and compile all internal and external audit requests including necessary backup Provide location manager with appropriate financial information as needed to make financial decisions regarding his/her local facility. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Eight (8) years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITITES (KSA’s) Experience working under tight deadlines, while ensuring a high level of accuracy Experience with detailed research and analysis Experience communicating and working with mid to upper-level management Full understanding and experience with payroll, accounts payable, cost accounting, general ledger accounting, budgeting and capital expenditures Supervisory experience or equivalent team leadership experience Proficient in Microsoft Office that includes Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong research and analysis skills Ability to identify issues and solve problems independently and accurately under time constraints Ability to maintain good working relationships with location manager and supervisors Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines on short notice Strong communication skills including public speaking to groups of 50-200 employees as well as the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with upper-level senior management Ability to effectively lead the department to adhere to policies and meet department deadlines Ability to complete time sensitive projects on your own with limited but reasonable guidance Ability to effectively write and communicate capital expenditure requests

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS

Occasional out-of-area overnight travel is expected
