POSITION SUMMARY

The Cost Accounting Supervisor will oversee the financial activities of the cost accounting team, ensure accurate standard costs and bill of materials and will be responsible for assigned general ledger accounts and cost centers including reconciliations and journal entries.. This position will work in tandem with the plant management team, providing variance analysis and context to support management decisions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Engage with plant management to review and maintain accurate standard costs. Review production process from an accounting perspective, from receipt of raw materials to shipment of finished goods production, to ensure alignment with standards and bill of materials, propose adjustments as identified. Research, identify, and communicate any variances; audit production reporting and analysis for accuracy in collaboration with Finance. Costing of new products or quotes/changes to existing products. Oversee staff including but not limited to training, evaluation, development, and coaching Ensure physical inventories are performed and reconciled on a timely basis in conjunction with the inventory control team. Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations for assigned accounts. Ensure GRNI is regularly maintained and up to date for accuracy of inventory and payables. Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related business field One (1) year experience in accounting within a manufacturing environment Three (3) years of accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications

Supervisory experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES (KSA’s) Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to discern a company’s financial strengths and weaknesses by reviewing its balance sheet and income statement. The ability to communicate in an effective and professional manner both verbally and in writing Strong attention to detail Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate up, down and across the organization
