Responsible for the Pasteurization & Whey Process. Coordinates activities to ensure optimal process efficiency. Seeks to continually promote sanitary conditions and compliance with safety regulations. Keeps management well informed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Assumes responsibility for ensuring compliance with quantity, quality and preparation of pasteurized ingredients for production needs.
1. Ensures that pasteurization is begun on time and monitors operations to ensure that schedules are met.
2. Keeps accurate inventory of ingredients and report to supervisor, either a surplus or need to order according to schedule.
3. Must ensure that all ingredients are used with 72 hours or less
4. Organize and schedule daily Whey pickups
5. Must efficiently and clearly communicate/interact with the Cheese-Makers (daily and throughout the day) ensures that workstations in pasteurization area operate efficiently and produce a quality ingredient.
6. Maintains effective operations with minimal breakdowns and delays; reports any mechanical problems/issues at milk receiving, pasteurizer and why process areas to Maintenance and or direct supervisor.
7. Ensures that communicates with cheese plant receiver/pasteurizer to schedule coverage for lunch breaks.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: General Education
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: SQF Code knowledgeable
Thorough understanding of food production functions, equipment, and standards.
Knowledge of quality control standards.

Chemical understanding and handling

WORKING CONDITIONS:Worker is subject to varying inside and/or outside temperatures, which may include heat temperatures up to 90 degrees.
At times, you may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty.
