POSITION SUMMARY

Oversees all daily operations of plant production. Keeps production at maximum capacity while developing processes for maximizing safety, quality, productivity and stewardship.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Plan production operations; establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products; reviews production orders and/or prepares operational schedules; coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data; reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays Manage all plant operations including production, quality, and logistics; implement continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and management methods. Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Develop, implement and monitor cost effective systems over control of capital, operating expenditures, personnel and wages Analyzes, resolves, and assists workers in solving, work related problems; recommends and/or initiates personnel actions including but not limited to promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures; conduct various personnel related matters including interviewing candidates, hiring, training, terminations, disciplinary action and assigning work; provide leadership, training, monitoring and coaching to accomplish goal Provide support and resources to make the HACCP and SQF programs Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

HS Diploma, GED or equivalent Three (3) years’ supervisory experience Five (5) years’ production experience

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Food Science, Business or related KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITITES (KSA’s) Must possess organization skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects to meet various deadlines in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization; must be able to clearly articulate technical ideas to a non-technical audience both verbally and in writing The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor and work well independently and within a team environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shifts. Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35 and 95 degrees; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach above the head. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels.
