Pulmonary Rehab Therapist - Pulmonary Function - Full Time

Position Summary: 

Directs and participates in the pulmonary rehabilitation program including marketing, reimbursement analysis, program statistics, and patient training. Demonstrates knowledge or principles of growth and development and the skills necessary to provide respiratory care for adult and geriatric patients.

Education, License & Cert: 

The Respiratory Therapist must be recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a, Registered Respiratory Therapist or a Certified Respiratory Therapist and should possess a minimum of an A.S. or an A.A.S. degree from a COARC accredited program. 

Experience:

Must be a graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Therapy Program. Prefer at least one year of intensive and general care as a respiratory therapist.  Will require orientation for blood gas procurement and analysis, bronchoscopy procedure, and general orientation to the Robert Packer Hospital.

Essential Functions: 

1. Authorized to access medications and storage areas in the performance of essential job functions and duties.

2. Communicates with Pulmonary Rehabilitation patients after completion of program, at regular intervals to determine adherence to treatment plan/exercise program.

3. Coordinates Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program including, ongoing development/changes in PR program, supervising other staff members, coordinating PI initiatives within the PR department and directing off site programs as necessary.

4. Performs detailed assessment to establish treatment plan and exercise prescription compliant with Pulmonary Rehabilitation standards of practice, policies and procedures

5. Provides individual or group training as per individualized treatment plan.  Leads, monitors and supervises individual and group exercise sessions.

6. Recognizes and emergency situation and initiates the proper plan of action.

7. Reviews medical records, consult with referring physician and other members of the health care team, and documents delivery of care to include treatment response, adherence to prescribed recommendations and clinical finding that require follow‐up.

Other Duties: 

1. Serves on committees as assigned.

2. When needed, supervises his/her assigned shift ensuring the quantity and quality of patient care given is appropriate.

 

The pay range for this position is $31.96 - $50.62/hr
