Pulping Applications Specialist

As a Pulping Applications Specialist, you will act as a pulp product and market expert, providing technical and business support, as well as training, to our commercial sales team and customers in North America. Your primary focus will be supporting key pulp growth and defense opportunities, ensuring best practices are followed in managing these programs. You will also play a key role in training and supporting new product validation trials and product introductions.

Key Accountabilities/Essential Functions of the Job

Collaborate and support business opportunitiesProvide field support for customer applications and troubleshootingContribute to new product development and portfolio expansionLead training sessions and develop technical materials for internal and external audiencesManage trial reporting and related communications

Education

Bachelor’s degree Science and/or Engineering; or equivalent relevant industry experience. 

Experience

10+ years of industry experience, with expertise in chemical applications and project management.Strong sales background, with proven ability to influence and understand business fundamentals.Skilled in troubleshooting complex issues and managing multiple projects independently.Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.Leadership experience, coaching teams and collaborating with global staff on product lines and market strategies.

Sub-Market Specialty Experience

Strong understanding of the Pulp MarketVery knowledgeable of Pulp specialty chemical programs and their applicationExcellent familiarity with various types of deposits: composition, possible sources, and how best to address/manage themExtensive understanding and experience in pulping operations across all areas (Brown Stock, Bleach Plant, Recaust & Recovery) and troubleshooting operational problemsFamiliarity with Pulp related digital solutions

Knowledge

Knowledge of pulp products and the industry.Ability to identify new business opportunities and strategies.Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels.Proficient in Microsoft Office and data mining software.Proven track record of success in EHSQ&PR and product-to-market delivery.

Travel Requirement (percent of time spent traveling for work)

Expected travel to be 50% - may be higher or lower at certain times of the year depending on demand

General Work Environment

Frequent travel to pulp customer sites, both indoors and outdoors.Comfortable working in temperature extremes and standing for long periods.Ability to climb stairs and handle manual tasks; mechanical aptitude is a plus.Use of safety equipment like hardhat, glasses, gloves, and H2S monitor required.Travel by car/air and proximity to a national airport preferred; remote work when not traveling.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $117,675.00 and $164,745.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
