**Job Title: Pump Mechanic**
**Job Description**
A pump repair and service shop in North Houston has an immediate opening for a Pump Mechanic to join their team on the day shift. The role involves DCI (Disassemble, Clean, Inspect) of various pumps including horizontal multi-stage pumps, single-stage pumps, overhung pumps, and vertical turbine pumps. You will diagnose faults and document 'as found'/'as built' conditions with pictures, dimensional data, and dispositioning of all. The position also requires the use of micrometers, bore gauges, veneer calipers, and dial indicators. You will perform shaft alignments with laser alignment systems and balance impellers. The ideal candidate will be able to work with minimal supervision and require no instructions for routine work.
**Responsibilities**
+ Disassemble, clean, and inspect various types of pumps including horizontal multi-stage, single-stage, overhung, and vertical turbine pumps.
+ Diagnose faults and document 'as found'/'as built' conditions with pictures, dimensional data, and dispositioning.
+ Utilize micrometers, bore gauges, veneer calipers, and dial indicators.
+ Perform shaft alignments using laser alignment systems.
+ Balance impellers.
+ Work with minimal supervision and no instructions required for routine work.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3+ years of pump mechanic experience with API pumps, horizontal multistage pumps, overhung pumps, 'between bearing' pumps, single-stage pumps, and/or vertical turbine pumps.
+ Experience performing DCI (Disassemble, Clean, Inspect) to create and develop a repair work-scope with pictures, dimensional data, and dispositioning.
+ Proficiency in using measuring tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, veneer calipers, and dial indicators.
+ Experience performing shaft alignment using laser alignment systems.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience balancing impellers.
+ Threading experience on a manual lathe.
+ Experience with turbines, compressors, mechanical assembly, and blueprint reading.

**Work Environment**

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spring, Texas.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00
