**Description** **Position Title: Purchaser** **Location: Nobleford, AB, Canada** **About AGI** AGI is a global company publicly traded in Canada, and we are expanding! We currently have over 100 employees operating out of 200,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Nobleford, Alberta ( **approx. 20 mins north of Lethbridge** ) and will be adding multiple positions as part of our expansion. We manufacture Westeel petroleum storage tanks and are Canada’s largest manufacturer of grain aeration and natural air grain drying equipment. **The Opportunity** While working 100% onsite at our Nobleford, Alberta location, this position will support our Supply Chain by procuring raw materials to meet our manufacturing plant’s production schedules. Nobleford is located 25 minutes north of Lethbridge, Alberta. **The Team** Reporting directly to the Materials Manager, you will work independently within a small team to manage the procurement process while collaborating cross functionally to understand and support supply chain requirements for the organization. **Responsibilities** + Procure raw materials & MRO materials to meet production schedule requirements + Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with suppliers + Identify and negotiate cost-saving opportunities + Analyze material requirements and provide forecasts to key suppliers + Monitor incoming material and resolve business-impacting delays with urgency + Evaluate and implement inventory management strategies to achieve optimal inventory levels while still providing operational flexibility + Identify and address slow-moving material and excess material with a goal of increasing inventory turns and reducing DSI + Resolve non-conforming raw materials with suppliers + Resolve price discrepancies between PO’s and invoices + Other duties as assigned **Qualifications** + 3 to 5 years experience in a similar role in a manufacturing lean environment + Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management would be an asset + ERP system experience with an understanding of MRP functionality + Proficient in Microsoft Excel + Strong knowledge of procurement and inventory management processes + Strong collaboration and communication skills (both verbal and written) + Analytical with strong attention to detail + Strong sense of initiative & ownership + Ability to multi-task and pivot as required to changing priorities in a dynamic environment + Resourceful in problem-solving + Preference will be given to local applicants **Why AGI?** We’re leading the way in global food supply chain solutions and here’s how: We’re the leading global expert in providing farmers, processors and commercial customers with the right equipment and customized engineering solutions to produce, protect and deliver the world’s grain, fertilizer, seed, feed and food supplies. Dedicated to safety, innovation and customization, AGI offers one of the largest catalogs of equipment and full-service planning and engineering services for the storage, blending, mixing, conveying, conditioning, and processing of agricultural products worldwide.
