What you'll do: 

The Purchasing, Ordering and Procurement (POP) team is responsible for the end-to-end ordering and delivery of HW to match a defined Infrastructure capacity (product) in a defined Data Center. An infrastructure product consists of servers, network, storage, back up and peripheral equipment. The efforts are finished when all HW is received by SAP where it is then used to build up additional infrastructure capacity supporting SAP and its customers.  The role will be required to align across multiple teams and SMEs in compute, network and storage to review, validate, order and receive all HW and supporting components for a defined product build.  The role will work closely with external SAP suppliers and HW manufacturers to place orders and track trough delivery to SAP.  Active escalation management is regularly required to push for fastest delivery timelines.  The responsibility includes:

all planning and validation of defined Bill of Materials (BoMs) within SAP and with external suppliers Creation of purchase order requests and tracking approval chain to PO released. alignment with compute, network, and storage SMEs adherence to well established KPIs and reporting using SAPs S/4 HANA Cloud where all builds are managed. Active engagement w/ SAP external providers and HW manufacturers to establish clear planning and delivery timelines for all orders.

Additional tasks are:

Report to SDC and DLS Management on status Close collaboration with the other Build, Design and Infrastructure teams   Contribute to planning and execution maturity / continuous improvements. Work along the rules defined and the tools given by DLS build governance.

The role reports to the Head of SDC.

 

What you bring:

2 or more years of work experience that preferably includes Supply Chain, IT Infrastructure or other comparable industries (e.g. manufacturing or construction) Experience with supply chain delivery. Experience with the methods and tools of product build in IT or other industries. Strong consumer / customer orientation, high quality, work focus and result / deliverable oriented thinking. Ability to work in a globally distributed organization and eagerness to work with people of other cultures. Fluent Business English

 

Meet your team: 

Global Cloud Infrastructure and Delivery (GCID)is responsible for running SAP’s backend technology including operations of state-of-the-art data centers and the technical platforms as integral part and foundation for all SAP Cloud solutions and services around the globe. 
The GCID unit provides these shared services for SAP’s external Cloud Business and for SAP’s internal infrastructure such as development, training, or demo landscapes.

Within GCID and among other responsibility, the Supply Chain and Decommissioning (SDC) organization is globally responsible to fulfill the demand for Infrastructure capacities and Lifecycle Decommissioning requests in the various Data Centers and hand it over to the consumers of the infrastructure and to the Infrastructure Run organization. The SDC team is set up in regional units.
