Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.

About the Opportunity

BlueOval SK is seeking procurement talent capable to sourcing required components or service for business and partner with our parent organizations and suppliers.  An individual willing to take on the challenge of building something new and to proactively develop, communicate, and implement the best solutions will find an enjoyable and rewarding experience in this role. Key responsibilities include:

Key Areas of ResponsibilityPurchase MRO/equipment/spare parts items/service and expedited material as needed at the best price from reliable sources, consistent with established standards for items, quality, quantitiesSupport global-based efforts to drive effective procurement of MRO categories.Maintain documents; complete purchase orders/contracts/offer sheets; Vendor Management; source new suppliers as needed; consider the costs of materials and shipping costGo through the costs, make sure they are accurate and justify the costs, based on project needs; distribute all vouchers and ensure they are attached to invoices for Finance approval.Update and maintain information to include material description, HTSUS No, duty ratio, origins; manufacturer, agent, and supplier- company/certification/ factory address, material picture, unit price, PO quantity/ amount, packing method, basic quantity per packing unit (pallet, bag, etc.) and basic quantity per delivery method (truck, 20ft container, etc.)Resolve potential discrepancies with invoicing or materials to ensure requests and bills are processed accurately and in a timely mannerCommunicate with customs, freight brokers and vendors to ensure shipment of purchased materialMaintain material master and purchasing data (i.e. part#, part SPEC, mode of transport, lead times, payment terms, and pricing) and recommended supplier on each item.Work closely with internal customers to avoid any adverse impact such as supplier delivery delays or receiving errors.Maintain processes, manuals, and work sheets; prepare and participate in audits/certificationsFluent in SAP MM Module Effective verbal and written communication skillsPerform other duties and tasks as may be assigned or expectedDemonstrated ability to report to work on a regular and consistent basis; work safely; and follow company policies and proceduresUnderstand business requirements to support organizational GoalsGet reports on key procurement/deliveries/results on a weekly basisAssign and direct work according to procurement/logistics planResponsible for achieving, monitoring, and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)Confer with other managers or global staff to coordinate activities in related departmentsCollect and voice opinions when the revision and/or establishment of new work procedures are neededPerform other job-related duties as assigned and report to team manager or purchasing managerStay up to date on industry trends and supply base

Minimum Qualifications 2+ years of Purchasing experienceBachelor’s DegreeExperience in Purchasing in a manufacturing environmentStrong communications, interpersonal, leadership and computer skillsStrong analytical, problem solving, and organization skillsEffective self-starter with multi-tasking experienceAbility to guide and influence at all levelsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications Experience in automotive/chemical manufacturing industryExperience in developing and purchasing automotive parts and managing procurement as a buyer or SQEMajor in Chemistry or Chemistry EngineeringMajor in Electronic or Machinery EngineeringFluent Korean Speaker
