ABOUT THE ROLE

The Purchasing Agent coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies, and purchases all inventory to meet production requirements by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews requisitions for accuracy and authorization of purchase. Confers with vendors to obtain products or information such as pricing, availability, and delivery schedules. Prepares purchase orders. Maintains procurement records. Prepares invoices for payment verifying pricing accuracy. Verifies specifications of purchase requests to include quantities, pricing and delivery dates.   Weekly cycle counts to ensure the proper flow of materials to production. Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries. Expedites delivery of materials. Meets production requirements on a daily basis while controlling inventory levels with various lead times. Assists in quarterly plant inventories.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Basic understanding and ability to learn construction materials. Understand the basics of inventory control. Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Demonstrate a good work ethic based on principles of honesty and integrity. Experience with Microsoft Excel a plus but not required. Will train in operations of procurement program.
