Purchasing Assistant
**Description** Purchasing Assistant - Construction Local electrical/transportation construction industry company seeking self-motivated Purchasing Assistant capable of providing various administrative, procurement, and procurement support functions. Benefits: + Health Insurance (Medical/Dental/Vision)starting Day 1 + Life, long-term/short-term disability insurances + Company Sponsored Retirement Plan + Employee Assistance Program + PTO + Paid Holidays Essential Functions & Responsibilities: + Order entry, purchase order processing. + expediting orders, problem resolution, and filing of paperwork. + Review & comprehend blueprints, plans, and specifications to perform material take-off. + Contacting Vendors/Suppliers for material quotations and some negotiating of purchases. + Coordinating deliveries and order expediting with material suppliers. + Interfacing with other departments and field personnel as needed. + Other tasks and duties as assigned to maintain the necessary functions of the department. Minimum Qualifications: + Must be 18 years of age or older. + 1 to 2 years of industry-related experience preferred. + Construction background and procurement experience required. + Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. + Fast learner of processes and procedures. + Proficient at multitasking and prioritizing. + Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and effective problem-solving skills. + Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Spectrum. Education & Experience + High School Diploma or GED equivalent + 2 years of experience in Industry preferred Pre-Screen + Upon offer, employees may be required to subject and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
