SummaryThe Purchasing Director leads and optimizes the procurement operations for Perdue AgriBusiness. Ensures the best value for all assigned purchased materials and services including industrial supplies; operating materials; capital equipment; business services; construction; maintenance and repair materials and services; and other purchased categories that may be assigned. Ensures availability of those purchased materials or services as required for continued operation and customer satisfaction; and to continuously improve our procurement and risk management processes to meet and exceed competitive capability (people, products and profitability) requirements. Provides information in the form of market conditions, price forecasts and supplier derived innovations.
The salary range for this position is $84,000.00- $126,000.00 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide capable leadership to achieve procurement strategic initiatives and operating plans including: competitive cost reduction, supply and price risk mitigation, achieving budgets and forecasts and continuously improving end-to-end procure-to-pay processes. Provide capable procurement leadership through selection training and development of outstanding human resources. Ensure capable product focused procurement activities and processes by setting and achieving productivity, delivery, innovation and customer satisfaction performance goals for indirect sourcing, supplier relationship management and procure-to-pay. Under direction of Corporate Procurement Council and using the Perdue standardized methods source assigned materials and services to achieve business unit and corporate objects as well as procurement profitability performance goals. Minimum Education BS Degree in Business or related field MBA in supply chain and/or CSPM (strongly desired) Experience Requirements 10+ years of experience in procurement management, supply chain management, or a related field. Engineering, industrial maintenance or operations background in Ag Business manufacturing. Thorough understanding of and experience managing the procure – to – pay process in a large industrial setting. Experienced in the effective use of computerized strategic sourcing, contract management, maintenance planning and electronic procurement transaction management. Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsAble to move freely throughout the facilities to include climbing vertical heights (0 - 150'), carrying tools and equipment (0-50 pounds), exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available). Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus. Required to travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities and other offsite locations. Able to operate a motor vehicle. Able to use standard office equipment and communicate on telephone. Some travel required to visit operational locations, suppliers ,and contractors. Situations may also necessitate travel as well as work hours and days.
