Purchasing Manager

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning:

Assists in developing and implementing strategic plans for purchasing and inventory, aligned with the company’s overall objectives. Analyze market trends and business requirements to forecast future needs and plan accordingly. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to boost efficiency and reduce costs.

2. Supplier Management

Assists in assessing and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness and delivery performance. Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts and oversee their performance. Monitor supplier performance metrics and take corrective actions as necessary to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Assists in supplier accreditation.

3. Procurement and Inventory Management

Assists in developing procurement strategies and policies to ensure timely availability of materials while optimizing inventory levels and costs. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to determine material requirements, create purchase orders and track order status. Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand trends and implement inventory control measures to reduce stock-outs and prevent excess inventory.

4. Performance Monitoring and Analysis:

Assists in developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement. Analyze data and metrics to identify trends, evaluate the effectiveness of strategies, and implement corrective actions.

5. Risk Management:

Assists in identifying potential risks and disruptions in the supply chain and developing contingency plans to minimize their impact. Monitor market conditions, regulatory changes and geopolitical factors that may affect the supply chain. Implement risk mitigation strategies, such as dual sourcing, inventory buffering and supplier diversification.

6. Team Management and Development:

Foster a collaborative results-driven culture, encouraging cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.
