/*generated inline style */ Job DescriptionThe Purchasing Manager/Outside Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods, materials, and services necessary for the company’s operations. This role involves managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality materials and services. Additionally, the manager coordinates outside services to ensure optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing:
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
• Supervise all Purchasing and receiving team members.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
• Maintain a database of approved suppliers and regularly assess their performance.
• Review and process purchase orders and requisitions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Vendor and Contract Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.
• Negotiate and manage contracts, including terms, conditions, and pricing agreements.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and resolve disputes or issues promptly.
Outside Services Coordination:
• Identify, evaluate, and engage third-party service providers for operations such as maintenance, logistics, and specialized production needs.
• Monitor service contracts to ensure deliverables meet quality and timeline requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align outside services with organizational needs.
Cost Management:
• Monitor and control procurement and service budgets to optimize cost savings.
• Conduct cost analyses to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Develop and implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality.
Compliance and Reporting:
• Ensure adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards in all procurement and service activities.
• Prepare and present reports on purchasing metrics, cost savings, and vendor performance.
• Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and industry developments.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field.
• Aerospace or manufacturing experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• In-depth knowledge of purchasing principles, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Work Environment:
• This position is primarily office-based. (No WFH or remote work provided.)
• The role does involve some exposure to a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit, stand, and work on a computer for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs. occasionally.
• Capable of walking and or standing for extended periods of time.
