Job Title: Purchasing Manager
Job Description

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for leading the purchasing team and overseeing all procurement activities. This role involves planning and managing the work of buyers, negotiating with suppliers, and establishing strategic partnerships to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and lead times for all purchased items and services.

ResponsibilitiesPlan and oversee the work of all buyers, both on-site and off-site.Train and develop buyers in all locations.Work with suppliers to secure the best combination of price, quality, and lead time for all purchases. This includes negotiating pricing, delivery, payment terms, and cancellation/return/warranty policies.Establish strategic partnership agreements with key suppliers.Support all purchasing activities, including procurement, component issues, and material returns.Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure required performance in on-time delivery, quality, and competitive pricing. Establish and maintain supplier scorecards to maintain/improve supplier performance.Provide visibility on component order status/receipt to all internal stakeholders.Coordinate with Engineering and Mechanical/Electrical Design functions to identify opportunities for product training or technical information sessions.Collaborate with other department employees and the Global Director of Supply Chain to identify and implement process improvement opportunities that increase efficiency, better utilize resources, and reduce costs.Perform other work as assigned to support projects and customer expectations.Follow all safety rules and policies.Ability to travel as required, both domestically and internationally.Play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement-related role.2 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role with direct reports.Experience working in an ERP/MRP/APS environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Ability to analyze planning information.Experience in contract negotiations.Strategic sourcing skills.Willingness and ability to learn at a challenging pace and in a changing environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsAwareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) is a plus.Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus.Strong problem-solving skills.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the company structure.Self-starter, organized, highly adaptive, flexible, and able to work with minimal supervision.Strong attention to detail.Work Environment

The position is based in an office environment, overseeing a team of about 5 buyers/purchasers. The role is fully onsite with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The position may involve up to 25% travel.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
