The Plant Buyer is responsible for the overall ContiTech IAM plant purchasing responsibilities for our Lincoln, NE Plant.
As the first point of contact to the users at each location, is mainly responsible to either solve problems locally or to address them properly up in the structure. This position will report to the Lead PM Team ContiTech Industrial Solutions Americas.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Negotiate prices, contracts, and other commercial conditions for local vendors´ contracts.Conduct local audits and coordination on action plans in cooperation with supporting areas.Manage and execute RFQs for samples, spot items, handle periodic sourcing of BOM local items (excluding other category buyers)Responsible for supplier management and guarantee compliance to documents and to ContiTech policies, i.e. BPCoC, NDA, GQA, certifications, Sustainability, Compliance, etc.Integrates the productive material yearly budgeting process team (Standard Cost, MPV, FC), representing the purchasing community.Acts as the first escalation level to SCM, Quality and R&D when needed / commercial issues.Assist with purchasing parties on SQM approval processes and external/internal audits.Support regional and global category colleagues to settle contracts/agreements locally.Commercial check, selection of vendors, vendor`s documents collection as supporting function of Global and Regional roles.Continuous improvement: DPO increase, Working Capital reduction, Cost Reduction projects, Automation, etc.Execute and maintain purchasing (and correlated) policies at the locations, clear user’s questions and escalate topics to other purchasing associates if required.Enter contracts/agreements and purchase orders of not non-pre-negotiated (spot) items under their responsibility into SAP to enable further materials management by SCM, such as samples, items for any kind of development or specific production demands.Maintain systems, tools and report data updated i.e. Vendor Master, Material Master, Saving reporting tools, etc.QualificationsWHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related field2+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment OR a minimum 4 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment or more in lieu of a bachelor's degree.Experience with negotiationStrong interpersonal skillsExperience with agreements and contractsKnowledge in supply chain, import and exportExperience with commodities and market trend analysis.Experience in SAPExperience utilizing an ERP system.Experience in MS OfficeNo relocation is provided for this role.
