Purchasing Specialist
General Description of Position: The USPS Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing packaging goods, inventory control, developing supplier relationships, coordinating inbound transportation and collaborating with the Accounts Payable team to service the Company\u2019s largest strategic account. Requirements: \u2022 A Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration or equivalent education and experience preferred. \u2022 High level of organizational skills and time management required. \u2022 Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, ability to engage multiple functions (technical, engineering, general management) within a business. \u2022 Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. \u2022 Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); and other applications as required. Essential Functions/Job Duties: \u2022 Oversee and coordinate purchasing matters with other departments, locations and divisions, including senior management. \u2022 Conduct supplier visits across the country to discuss open issues, process improvement and maintain purchasing relations. \u2022 Travel to VP locations to conduct branch audits and supervisor meetings to address inventory control issues, best practices and process optimization. \u2022 Work closely with Accounts Payable team resolve invoicing issues and maintain payment terms with suppliers. \u2022 Utilize strong decision making skills in managing multiple vendors and expediting product flow as required to prevent stock-out situations at warehouses. \u2022 Work to optimize supply chain dealing with market shifts, supply-chain movement, and various product offerings. \u2022 Assist with development materials management strategies for the specific groups and presents them to management. \u2022 Monitor compliance with contracts, facilities meetings and discussions to resolve circumstances, and contacts other personnel when required. \u2022 Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Additional Functions/Job Duties: \u2022 Other duties as assigned. \u2022 Partner with warehouse shipping and receiving for quality review and routing. \u2022 Partner with inventory to conduct cycle count and enhance product knowledge.
